چکیده
We use a scanning superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) to image the magnetic flux produced by designed for computing. The nanometer-scale SQUID-on-tip probe reveals flow of current through circuit as well locations trapped flux. In particular, maps flowing out flux-control line in vicinity qubit show how these elements are coupled, providing insight on optimize control.

Scanning superconducting quantum interference device on a tip for magnetic imaging of nanoscale phenomena.
We describe a new type of scanning probe microscope based on a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) that resides on the apex of a sharp tip. The SQUID-on-tip is glued to a quartz tuning fork which allows scanning at a tip-sample separation of a few nm. The magnetic flux sensitivity of the SQUID is 1.8 μΦ(0)/√Hz and the spatial resolution is about 200 nm, which can be further impr...
متن کاملNanoscale assembly of superconducting vortices with scanning tunnelling microscope tip
Vortices play a crucial role in determining the properties of superconductors as well as their applications. Therefore, characterization and manipulation of vortices, especially at the single-vortex level, is of great importance. Among many techniques to study single vortices, scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) stands out as a powerful tool, due to its ability to detect the local electronic s...
متن کاملUsing a hybrid superconducting-ferromagnetic tip as a magnetic scanning tunneling microscope
Approaching a two-component tip made of a superconductor (S) and a ferromagnet (F) from a magnetic sample allows for two distinct tunneling processes between the ferromagnets, through S: i) Charge and spin are conserved; ii) Charge and spin are reversed, e.g. a Cooper pair flows from S, one electron going into F, the other into the sample. At subgap voltages, this allows two currents to flow fr...

This paper is divided into 8 sections. Section 1 is an overview of the MEG technique. Section 2 provides a short historical background on the method. Secti...
متن کاملSelf-aligned nanoscale SQUID on a tip.
A nanometer-sized superconducting quantum interference device (nanoSQUID) is fabricated on the apex of a sharp quartz tip and integrated into a scanning SQUID microscope. A simple self-aligned fabrication method results in nanoSQUIDs with diameters down to 100 nm with no lithographic processing. An aluminum nanoSQUID with an effective area of 0.034 microm2 displays flux sensitivity of 1.8 x 10(...
